The “La Luna” timepiece with its double pendulum (resonance pendulum) completes one revolution about its axis in one hour, indicating the seconds and minutes in the process. Just before the full hour has passed, the jumping hour indication is set in motion. Weekday, date and month are clearly visible. The clock also displays the phases of the moon (gain correction after 128 years), signs of the zodiac, the longest and shortest days of the year and the seasons. The free-standing ‘La Luna’ is set on a chrome-plated steel base and the driving-weight is concealed in a 120 cm-tall column. The materials used are gold, chrome, lapis lazuli, blue glass, mother-of-pearl and horn and the clock has a power reserve of five days.
